LinkedIn is a very interesting marketing channel. Within the professional network, company profiles are practically a showcase. To this end, LinkedIn will suggest possible contacts to your work environment when creating the profile. In addition, the platform can access the address book of your email service and check which of your contacts is already registered on LinkedIn. But this is only an option: if you do not want to reveal your e-mail contacts, you can skip this step.
For this reason, LinkedIn allows its users to create business impact profiles, distribute specific content for the targets and in this way carry out social media marketing activities (LinkedIn Campaigns). Create and configure the company profile. To create a business profile on LinkedIn, you first need a free personal profile that is set up quickly and easily. To be able to create a meaningful profile for your company it is necessary that your private account does not contain any personal content.
However, it is recommended to take care of both profiles for LinkedIn Campaigns: after all you are the contact person and ambassador of your company’s brand. Precisely for this reason you should achieve a good ranking on LinkedIn even with your private profile.
From the menu bar, click on “Products” and then select “Create a company page”. Now you have to enter the name of your company and choose a URL. This address can also be reached outside the network and is used by search engines.
Since the address can only be changed with great difficulty and with the help of LinkedIn administrators, it should be carefully thought out. Clearly it is necessary that no one else has already used the URL. For LinkedIn Campaigns, it is also mandatory to confirm that you are really an authorized representative of the company, because in principle anyone could create a company profile for any company.
At this point you will be presented with a completely empty profile that only contains the name of your company. But to start promoting your profile, you first need content. First of all, you should upload your company logo.
The format must be 300 x 300 pixels, the larger images are automatically resized. You also have the possibility to enrich your profile with a cover image (a sort of banner header): here you should choose a picture of the size of 1536 x 768 pixels. The LinkedIn Campaigns image can be moved to match your expectations. JPEG and PNG formats are available.
Before even reading the information on your profile, LinkedIn users will notice the images. Therefore, it is advisable to use only high quality and representative graphics and photos.
