Have you ever thought of stabilized chlorine for swimming pools? Maybe you have but decided against it because of the perceived cost. Chlorine is an essential element for disinfection, but it can be expensive to add.
It’s not just in swimming pools that chlorine can be used. It is also in industrial and large-scale water treatment plants and for treating water supply in rural areas. The price you pay for using it, though, is worth it when you consider all of the benefits.
When chlorine stabilizes, it is because it has become less volatile. In other words, it is more stable than the other elements found in pools. When it was first developed, it was pretty challenging to use. It needed two chemicals to get started – chlorine and hydrogen peroxide. Today though, you only need one to get it going.
You may think that you don’t need a stabilized form of chlorine since it is used so frequently anyway. This is simply not true. If you take a close look at the amount of chlorine your pool uses regularly, you will see that it is very inefficient. The actual amount of chlorine needed to treat a gallon of water is about seven hundred milligrams.
This makes it very hard to filter out, let alone store. Plus, there are several different types of chlorine to keep track of. In general, though, all of them are the same. They are used in the same amounts and come in the same chemical formula. So there is no way to know which one you need to use to keep your pool free from harmful bacteria and viruses.
This is where stabilized chlorine comes in. A certain type of it is specifically designed to kill germs and bacteria in the pool. It kills them in such a way that the average swimming pool user does not have to worry about using up a lot of chlorine to get rid of bacteria and other harmful microorganisms. This also means that the average pool user is not using up many harmful chemicals in their pool everyday life. So, when a pool user needs to lower the amount of chlorine in their pools, they do not have to go through the extra work of adding additional chlorine.
Stabilized chlorine is also very easy to use. It can be used on any kind of swimming pool, whether it is an Olympic pool or a small children’s pool. It is even easy to take care of. It will last just as long as regular chlorine. It is inexpensive, too. The cost of stabilized chlorine for swimming pools is something that any pool owner will gladly pay off because it saves them money on the expensive costs of regular chlorine.
