Using the proper technique for UPVC door spray painting is vital to achieve the ideal results. The adjustment of the pressure is carried out by regulating the jet of spray. It must be as uniform and straight as possible. With too little pressure, the jet tends to fray and unevenly distributes the paint. Improper settings can translate to scratches on the edges of the spray. If this is the case, then the pressure should be gradually increased until the spray appears even.
Generally, the pressure setting information is indicated directly on the paint bucket or on the material package. If not, it is recommended that you test by increasing the pressure gradually until the spray pattern is satisfactory. This can for example be done on a piece of cardboard to avoid splashing on the final support. For novices, it is vital to practice spraying water to find the right pressure setting.
Adjusting the working pressure optimally can have a significant impact on the final result as well as on the quality of the finishes, the material consumption, the wear of the paint and nozzle station or on the formation of a spray mist. In many cases, the work is carried out with strong pressure, which disperses a cloud of paint in the room and not on the wall. Workload and cleaning time are unnecessarily increased as well as paint consumption and equipment wear.
Holding the spray gun may affect the final result of the spray. The gun should be held firmly and relaxed. The index finger and middle finger are used to pull the trigger to start and stop the spraying process.
The gun distance, especially from the nozzle, should be 25-30 cm from the work surface. If the distance is greater, the spray pattern will expand: this can lead to an irregular spray pattern and increased overspray formation. If the distance is less than 25 cm, then the width of the jet will be reduced and too much material will be projected on the support: traces may appear.
The jet should be directed more perpendicularly and directly towards the support. Avoid as much as possible tilting your gun down, up or to the side. The distance and projection angle must remain the same while the gun is moved up and down to spray.
Technique to adopt when spraying
Working with an airless spray gun allows two positions: spraying and non-spraying. There are no other possibilities and a semi-projection is not possible for example. To obtain a regular spray pattern, release the gun trigger while spraying. You must first move the arm and the gun, then pull the trigger during the movement of the arm to spray the paint evenly.
