A polished room does not guarantee a workable event. One host reserved an oceanfront restaurant for an evening reception because the view fit the occasion, then learned that the preferred dining area could not comfortably hold a welcome table, musicians, and the planned seating.
The room looked right in photographs, but the operating plan had never been tested.
Venue selection should begin with the event format, guest movement, service requirements, and schedule. A private dinner, cocktail reception, product presentation, and live performance may need entirely different arrangements, even if they use the same room.
