Renting Air Core Drilling Services

A lot of businesses want to dig a hole or else need an accurate soil sample before they do some type of work on a lot. The cheapest solution is to hire a relatively small rig to do some air core drilling. This is one of the lightest and least expensive options for taking a sample or digging a really deep post hole. Farming tractors often have drill extensions, but nothing beats the versatility of an air-core drill.

The difference is that drill is a cylinder that is tipped with steel or tungsten. It successfully bores through upper layers but has a hard time penetrating tough bedrock. This is still perfect in areas with thick particle strata. Ordinary dirt can become incredibly compact at deeper layers and can even start to resemble broken sandstone. An air core drill can go through these top layers.

Whether or not this is the perfect solution depends on the needs of the business or property owner. Air core drilling is the absolute perfect solution for taking samples. The dirt is trapped inside the cylinder drill and is then extracted in perfect condition once the bit is lifted. The trapped soil layers are then ejected using pressurized air. Since the core is intact, construction workers and farmers can see what they are dealing with.

Drilling a core may or may not create a hole large enough for a practical purpose. Often, extracting a sample is the primary goal of this service. This does not mean that the resulting hole is not wide and deep. Often, it is deep enough to insert a pipe or form the basis of a well. If a larger and stronger drill is needed to finish the job, then the first drilling created a guide hole that makes the work much smoother.

This system is definitely an option for starting a fracking operation. Sometimes testers can determine the presence of gas-bearing rock by looking at the sample, and the hole produced can start the job of inserting steel rods in order to pump in water to break apart deeper rock layers.

All in all, an air core tower looks like a primitive oil exploration rig. Samples produced are indeed used for many exploratory purposes, and its relatively lightweight nature is as much as an advantage as a liability. These types of drills are cheaper to rent than more specialized equipment. Use a two-punch method when exploring for natural resources.
